Have you thought about teaching preschool but just don't know where to start? Have you taught preschool before but like the freedom of not having your own classroom? Join Boys & Girls Club of Hernando County as a Preschool Teacher covering breaks at our Brooksville Little Leopards Preschool! Boys & Girls Club of Hernando County (BGCHC) provides fun, engaging, and educational before-and-after school programming within Hernando County's public schools.
We also provide early childhood education at seven daycare/preschool locations.
Our mission is to enable children, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens.
As a Floater/Breaker Preschool Teacher, there is never a dull moment! You cover ALL classrooms so your fellow teachers can take a lunch break, which means you may work with children from 6 weeks through 5 years old.
You float from one classroom to another, working in each from 1-2 hours at a time.
You follow the schedule and lesson plans set by each teacher to allow for a smooth transition.
Depending on the time of day, you will play with children in centers, create art projects 1:
1 or in small groups, feed meals, play outside, or supervise nap time.
Strong communication skills are very important because you need to relay information and complete paperwork to keep teachers and parents well-informed.
After all of the teachers have had their breaks, you may take over a classroom when one goes home for the day most likely the infant classroom.
If a teacher is out sick or on vacation, you will cover their classroom for the entire day.
This position is great for someone new to the field as it allows you to work with all age groups and learn many different teaching and classroom management styles.
